Practice Alternate Expression

ALTERNATE EXPRESSION OPTIONS: Have the option to share aloud or write down questions and contributions to the class.

Sometimes it may be difficult to speak out loud in a large group. One way to improve this skill is to start writing down your thoughts or questions and share them later or just keep them for your notes.  Start by thinking of just one question you would like to ask or one comment you would like to make after listening to a lesson.  After the lesson, share your question or comment with a teacher, classmate, or another person supporting you.  Continue writing and sharing more questions or comments after each lesson and eventually you will feel comfortable sharing them with a couple of people, then a small group and finally a larger group.
